In medical terms, abnormal hair growth (on the face as well as the body) in women is called hirsutism. It has been observed that individuals with dark hair or pigmentation are likely to be hairier than those with a lighter pigmentation or blonde hair. Facial hair can be a heckle for many women. It is not easy for everyone to go for permanent hair removal treatments. In addition, such treatments target thick hair only. However, some of us have a medium to thick growth of relatively fine hair.
You can try some homemade tricks to get rid of such facial hair. In some cases, the results will be temporary and for other they might last for a longer time. Also, it might not get rid of all the hair on the face. Sometimes denser hair is removed easily. The effectiveness is not the same for everyone, but you will definitely see noticeable differences.
Natural Hair Removal
Egg White and Corn Flour
A very easy pack is made using egg white and corn flour. You will also need sugar to make this pack. Blend egg white with sugar. Add some corn flour also until the mixture becomes sticky. Apply this mixture on the face evenly and wait for it to dry up completely. Peel off after it has dried. This procedure should be repeated about 3-4 times every week.
Sugar and Lemon juice
Another easy recipe is made using sugar and lemon juice. Bring a pan or pot to heat on a stove. Add some sugar in it and wait for a few seconds. Once the sugar begins to heat up add one tablespoon of lemon juice in it. Keep stirring while this concoction heats up. It will turn into a sticky liquid. Allow it to cool down then. Apply it on the face and use a cloth to take off the mask for best results.
Honey also helps with facial hair. You need to mix honey and lemon juice in equal quantities to prepare this mask. Lemon is very good in this mask as it is a natural bleaching agent. It can easily mask the color of your hair. Apply it on the face for about 15 minutes. This mask should be applied to the face daily. Some remedies advice mixing one tablespoon of lemon juice with 4 tablespoons of honey. This should also be applied for 15 minutes on the face.
Honey and Lemon
Another such mask is made by adding sugar to honey and lemon juice. Mix all these ingredients and put them in a bowl. Heat this bowl in a microwave for about 3-4 minutes. Ensure that the mixture to come to a bubble. Apply this on the face in the direction of hair growth. Place a cloth and after ti has stuck to the face thoroughly, just pull it in the opposite direction.
Flour for Hair Removal
Gram Flour and Turmeric Powder
Another great mask is made by mixing gram flour and turmeric powder. Use water to make a paste out of these ingredients. You can also use curd to make a nice paste. The three ingredients should be mixed in equal quantities. However, ensure that this helps to make a paste. Apply it on the face and let it dry. It is best to wash off the mask once it has dried up. You can also peel off the mask with your hands after it has dried. But if this hurts, then just wash it off with water.
Chickpea Flour with Milk Cream
You can also mix chickpea flour with milk cream. You can add a pinch of turmeric t this mixture. Mix it well and apply it on the face in the direction of hair growth. Let this mixture dry up, it would take about 30 minutes for this to happen. Then, scrub off the mixture with your hands.
Lentils soaked overnight also make a good mask. Make a blend from this soaked lentils. Add lemon juice, honey and potato juice to these lentils. Add a pinch of turmeric to this mixture. This is another easy way to remove facial hair. Take any freshly kneaded dough. Make a tiny ball of this dough. Use any oil with this dough, it is best to use olive oil. Dip this ball into the oil and rub it on your face for about 10-15 minutes. This helps tremendously to get rid of unwanted hair.
You can try to peel off these masks with your hands. Otherwise, you can also try using a cloth to remove this mask. If you are using a cloth, make sure that it sticks to the face adequately once you have applied it. Give a gentle pat to the face over the cloth. You can also rub the mask downwards to ensure that it sticks properly to the face. Ensure that you apply these masks to clean and dry skin. Otherwise, it might interfere with the effectiveness of the mask. If possible, try to dust some talcum powder or corn starch on your skin t get rid of facial hair.
Other Facial Hair Removers
Buttermilk is also an effective ingredient for such treatments. Just mix it with turmeric powder. Apply the mixture on the face and wash it off when it has dried up. You can make a natural bleach for your facial hair. Just mix about half a teaspoon of sugar with two teaspoons of lemon juice. Apply it on the face and let it dry. Mix turmeric powder in some milk and scrub it in slow circular motion on the face. Wash it off with cold water.
Chamomile Tea and Lemon Juice
Mixture of chamomile tea and lemon juice also helps with facial hair. It can lighten the hair considerably. Apply tomato juice on the skin. Let it stay for about 15 minutes until it dries off completely. Then wash it off with water. Orange peels are also good for removing facial hair. Sun dried orange peels can be mixed with honey, milk or cream. This should be washed off with water.
Sugaring or Waxing
There are other ways to tackle facial hair at home. You can try sugaring or waxing. Just apply a cot of this wax on the face. Smoothen a cloth on the face and pull in the opposite direction. You can pluck unwanted hair with a tweezer. You can try using a bleaching kit at home. Buy a good quality one with precise instructions.
Hair Removal Creams
Hair removal creams also help, but they might not suit every one. Always buy such a cream after doing a patch test on your skin. Also, never apply for the first time just before an important event you have to attend. Apply this cream with gloves on your hands and wash it off as per instructions provided. Some women also use a razor to remove hair. Ensure that you are comfortable with the razor.
