Itching can have varied causes like allergic reactions, insect bites, skin infections, dry weather, soaps and detergents, and even some medications. Itching is a common condition which can be caused by skin infections. The main reason for itching can relate to an allergy or a bacterial skin infection. You can cure the condition of itching by using many medicated creams.

You can also cure your itching using medicated powder. There are many home remedies and natural methods which can cure your condition of itching in a positive manner. There are many natural methods which have no side implication on itching.

Home remedies for Itching

Juniper Berries and Cloves

Juniper berries and cloves used together make an excellent home remedy for itchy skin. Juniper berries have great anti-inflammatory properties, and cloves contain a powerful essential oil that helps numb the nerve endings to reduce itching sensations.

Fresh Basil Leaves

Basil leaves contains anti-itch compounds called camphor and thymol. This is my personal go-to trick for bug bites, as it’s so quick and easy. Plus, rubbing the leaf onto the skin satisfies the compulsive urge to scratch.

Colloidal Oatmeal

Colloidal oatmeal (oats ground into an extremely fine powder) helps soothe and comfort itchy skin. It contains anti-irritating, anti-inflammatory and soothing properties that provide instant relief from itching.


People have used lemon to treat itchy skin for ages. Lemon contains citric and acetic acids, which have great antiseptic, anesthetic, anti-inflammatory and anti-irritating properties.

Peppermint Leaves

You can opt for fresh peppermint leaves to cure your condition of itching in natural manner. This can help to ease the itching sensation to a good extent. Peppermint leaves are cool in nature; you can use them in the form of paste. Try and add some Aloe Vera in the form of juice in this mix.

Apply it on your itching sensation. It can reduce your itching and give you good results. You can also use natural form of Aloe Vera gel for your itching sensation. This can be applied three to four times in a day duration. It may help to heal your skin infection.

Cold Packs

You can also use cold packs for easing your itching sensation in a positive manner. Apply cool packs on the area and leave it for few minutes. This may naturally help to cure your itching sensation. You can also place ice on direct basis, is it provides a cooling relief to your itching sensation.

Baking Soda

You can also use natural form of baking soda for your condition of itching. You can mix baking soda along with water and directly apply to your itching area. This method has no effect on the skin infection or allergy. It can be used in natural manner on condition of your itching.

Vitamin E Oil

You can apply natural vitamin E oil to condition of your itching. This can also help to cure your itching in a natural way. It helps to reduce burning sensation in terms of skin infection. Wheat germ oil is also good for itching.
