Tomato Juice And Butter Milk
Prepare a mixture of fresh tomato juice and butter milk in the ratio of 1:6. Apply this mixture on the tanned area of the skin. Leave it for half an hour and the wash with cold water. This will help to lighten the tan and also reduce the burning and itching of the skin.
Milk is very effective in reducing the uneasiness that is caused due to sun tan. Mix milk and water in equal quantities. Take a clean cloth and dip it in the milk mixture.
Apply this wet cloth on the sunburnt areas. Do this for some time and repeat it frequently. It will give a lot of relief.
Oatmeal helps to reduce the itching and irritation which is due to sunburns. 3-4 spoons of oatmeal powder can be added to the water before bath. It helps in reducing the sunburns.
A paste of oatmeal can be prepared with ripe papaya pulp and a spoon of honey and applied as a mask on tanned areas of the body. Allow the mask to dry and then wash off with cold water. This mask effectively lightens the skin and reduces the inflammation of the skin.
Applying cucumber juice on the affected are reduces the redness, swelling and burning sensation of the skin. Applying of the pulp of raw cucumber mixed with yogurt also helps in curing sunburns. Slices of freshly chopped cucumber can also be rubbed on the sun tanned skin to heal it completely.
The use of lemon and its juice in sunburns has always given good results. Mix lemon juice with honey in the ratio of 1:2. Apply his mixture on sunburn affected areas.
Allow it to stay on the skin for about 20 minutes and then wash off. Applying lemon juice mixed with cucumber juice in equal quantities also helps to cure sunburns.
Using of potatoes to cure sunburns is one of the oldest home remedy. Apply slices of freshly cut potatoes or juices made out of it on tanned skin to get rid of sun burns.
