Anemia is a condition when the red blood cells (RBCs) decrease in blood. RBCs contain hemoglobin which is the actual carrier of oxygen. Herbal Remedies For Anemia

Black Raisins

Black raisins contain plenty of iron which can be easily absorbed by the human body. One has to be methodical to extract maximum benefit from these special dry fruits. One course should last nine days followed by a gap of one week or ten days. Thereafter it can be repeated, if required.

For one course you need 72 raisins. They should be soaked in water the previous night. The number of raisins that needs to be taken varies each day. One raisin is to be taken on the first day, two on the second day, three on the third day, four on the fourth, fifth and sixth day. Now we need to decrease the numbers by one each day. On the ninth day the last one raisin should be eaten. The water in which raisins were soaked should also be taken.

Alfalfa

Alfalfa is a widely used herbal remedy. The best way to take it is in the form of food. The sprouts of alfalfa can be made and eaten regularly. Its leaves are also used to raise hemoglobin in blood. It is better to avoid concentrates of this good herb, though it does not have any significant side effects.

It is one food item that has innumerable nutrients. It has vitamin C in it due to which it allows the absorption of iron in the body.

Fenugreek Leaves

Fenugreek leaves are of utmost utility for anemia. This aromatic and strong herb contains iron. It is a popular herb in many regions which is eaten as a leafy vegetable. It should be eaten at least thrice a week to derive benefit. Regular use of fenugreek leaves prevents anemia.

Menstruating young girls often become anemic due to excessive blood flow. Fenugreek restores the hemoglobin levels to normal for them.

Dandelion

Dandelion has not only iron but the ability to absorb that iron in the human system. Hence, its iron content gets assimilated easily. Additionally, it helps the iron coming from other sources to get absorbed as well.

One should take a tsp of fresh juice of this herb which is seen as a weed in the gardens. Take it along with some water for best results.

Yellow Dock

Roots of yellow dock are the good sources of iron; and the beauty of this herb is that the iron of yellow dock can be easily absorbed. Hence, yellow dock raises the hemoglobin levels quickly. One tsp of root should be put in cup of water and simmered for 20 minutes.You need to take its tincture every morning. It may have some side effects.

Beetroot

Beetroot is famed for its rich iron content. Many people doubt that it is because of red colour and nothing else that beet has acquired fame for a blood builder. It is because of their ignorance that they think so. In fact, it is not only rich in iron content but also its iron content is easily absorbed and assimilated.

Gentian

Gentian helps by aiding in the absorption of iron. The food that we eat is likely to contain some iron which gets absorbed in the presence of gentian. The infusion of its root is made and refrigerated. This should be taken half an hour before meals so as to facilitate iron absorption.

You can take one tsp of root of gentian in the powdered form and steep it in warm water for 15 minutes. You will have to take three cups of water. Strain and store in your fridge. One dose should consist of 10 ml of this infusion with a bit of lemon juice added to it.
