Acid reflux is painful. Food and acid splash into the esophagus and cause belching, heartburn and, in some severe cases, chest pains difficulty in swallowing, bloating and stomach pain, burping, hoarseness of voice, vomiting and many more things. Some individuals have experienced pain so intense they thought they were having a heart attack. Regular acidic condition is bad for overall health of the body. It should be treated with great importance before it takes a serious look.

Acid reflux situation for a long time may turn to ulcer and other more serious situation. For this reason this should be treated as early as possible.

Natural Remedies For Acid Reflux

Banana

Banana works as a great remedy for acid reflux, as it acts as a natural antacid. It also contains potassium which helps to reduce the acid levels in your stomach and helps in better digestion. Eat a banana regularly for results. You can add little sugar and a pinch of cinnamon powder.

Aniseed, Fenugreek and Fennel

Soak some aniseed and fenugreek in water overnight. Strain the water next morning and drink it. Drink half cup of water each time everyday. Within few days you will get relief.

Instead of aniseed you may also use fennel. Fennel seeds have beautiful aroma which helps in digestive system and keep stomach acid under control. Chew some fennel seed after taking every meal.

Ginger Root

Ginger root is a wonderful natural medicine that gives benefit in acid reflux. Take quarter inch fresh ginger root. Peel it and chew it accompanied by a glass of warm water. You can also make ginger tea and drink it in the morning and evening.

Take a cup of water and mix grated ginger in it. Boil the water and soak a teaspoon of tea leaves in it. Let it soak and keep the lid on for 3-4 minutes. Then strain the tea and drink it hot. You may add a teaspoon honey to add taste. Honey is also a great antacid. Drink it regularly.

Water Therapy

To get relief from acid reflux, it is necessary to drink adequate water daily. Water helps to remove toxin from your body through urine. So drink at least 8-10 glasses of plain water everyday to remove toxin from your body.

Drink at least 2 glasses of cold water in empty stomach every morning. This will help to clear your bowel and will keep you acid free.

Cucumber Juice

Cucumber juice is a good medicine for acid reflux. Grate one cucumber and extract the juice. Keep it in refrigerator and take this cold juice daily after taking each meal. It will help to digest your food and will prevent acidity.

Green Coconut

Coconut water is another excellent medicine for acid reflux. Drink a green coconut everyday after lunch. Green coconut water helps to digest food and prevent acidity.

Chewing Gum

Chewing gum not only eliminates the bad breath, but also prevents the heartburn and acid reflux. Chew a piece of sugar free gum for at least 30 minutes after eating. It helps to simulate the salivary flow rate, so any acid in the gut is washed away.

Specially Made Powder

Roast cumin seed, coriander seed, fennel and black pepper seed in 2:2:2:1 amount. Crush them into fine powder. Take a glass of cold water. Mix a tablespoon of this mixed powder and a teaspoon of rock salt. Mix well and drink it after each meal everyday. It will help you to get rid of acid reflux.

Mustard.

Mustard is an alkalizing food that is full of minerals, and contains a weak acid in the form of vinegar. Consuming mustard straight, while it may make you grimace at first, may ultimately end up making your smile. Because of its alkaline properties, it will help neutralize the acid that may come creeping up your throat, and therefore may neutralize the pain of acid reflux.

Diet

Stay away from oily and spicy food and animal protein. These types of foods do not get digested well and create acidity and vomiting tendency in your body.

Apple Cider Vinegar

I recommend taking one tablespoon of raw organic apple cider vinegar mixed in about 4 ounces of purified water before each meal. This will help calm the stomach and supports digestion. This remedy also works for acute episodes of acid reflux and is my favorite, fast-acting home remedy for acid reflux.

Do not over stuff your stomach. Eat simple and in low quantity food every time. You can control acid reflux situation at home easily. But if the condition persists, do not forget to visit the physician.
