Bitter Gourd

Consuming bitter gourd is one of the most effective home remedies for controlling diabetes.  It has been found that bitter gourd contains insulin which lowers the level of blood glucose.

Bitter gourd is most effective when the juice of it is taken empty stomach early morning. However, eating bitter gourd as a cooked vegetable can also reduce blood glucose level to a great extent.

Leaves

Leaves of various plants help to control or prevent diabetes. Leaves of mango tree are one of the most effective treatments for diabetes. Fresh mango leaves should be boiled in water and left overnight. The mixture should be sieved next morning and taken in empty stomach to reduce blood glucose level.

Mango leaves can also be dried and powdered. A spoon of this powder should be taken with water empty stomach. Ten leaves of neem, tulsi and belpatra when taken empty stomach early morning also help to control the level of glucose. Leaves of butea tree or curry leaves when eaten empty stomach helps to control diabetes. Powdered form of dried bay leaves when taken with warm water also reduces the blood glucose level.

Cinnamon

Cinnamon is a herb that deals with both type I and type II diabetes. It not only helps to reduce the problems related to diabetes but also adds taste and flavour to the food.

Few spoons of powdered cinnamon should be boiled in water for 15mins, strained and taken empty stomach to lower blood glucose level. Powdered cinnamon can also be added to food while cooking. Drinking tea containing a small stick of cinnamon also helps to control diabetes.

Fenugreek

The seeds of fenugreek contain amino acids that promote insulin release from pancreas, which in turn helps to reduce the blood glucose level. Soak fenugreek seed in water and leave it overnight.

Strain the mixture next morning and drink the liquid empty stomach. This therapy will help to cure diabetes. Powdered fenugreek seeds can also be consumed with a glass of milk every day to control diabetes.

Amla

Amla is a rich source of vitamin C which helps to control diabetes. Amla not only makes the pancreas secrete insulin but also helps to deal with several other health problems caused due to diabetes. Amla juice mixed with bitter gourd juice when taken daily helps to control diabetes to a great extent.
